ADVANTEC conducted a comprehensive Engineering and Traffic Speed Survey for the City of Rialto to establish and re-certify posted speed limits in compliance with the California Vehicle Code (CVC) and California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CAMUTCD). The project involved radar speed data collection at 175 locations along 54 city streets, with each segment reviewed for roadway characteristics, signage placement, and historical collision data. ADVANTEC analyzed accident rates, conducted engineering evaluations, and developed Speed Zone summaries with recommended speed limit adjustments. The final solutions improved roadway safety and enforceable speed limits. The project also included stakeholder presentations and public outreach to ensure transparency and community input.
