I-15 STAGEd CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC HANDLING PS&E
Caltrans District 11
ADVANTEC, serving as a subconsultant to Kimley-Horn under Caltrans District 11’s On-Call North Contract, prepared stage construction and traffic handling PS&E for a critical pavement rehabilitation project along I-15. The project spans over six miles, from the Mission Avenue Undercrossing to north of the Deer Springs Road Overcrossing (PM R31.3 to R37.1), and includes Continuously Reinforced Concrete Pavement (CRCP), individual slab replacement in the #3 and #4 lanes, shoulder rehabilitation, and bridge approach slab and joint seal upgrades. ADVANTEC developed more than 160 detailed plan sheets, including detours, cross sections, speed reduction zones, signage, and staging strategies to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow during construction. Coordination with Caltrans covered construction phasing, equipment, hours, and interaction with adjacent freeway features to optimize work zones and minimize disruptions. ADVANTEC also provided special provisions, construction quantities, and a CPM schedule to guide execution.
