ADVANTEC prepared the Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for the traffic signal modification at the intersection of Inglewood Avenue and Manhattan Beach Boulevard in the City of Redondo Beach. The project aimed to improve intersection efficiency and reduce congestion through the addition of a dedicated southbound right-turn lane. It included preliminary engineering and analysis of multiple design configurations, supported by new turning movement counts, Synchro traffic modeling, and truck turning templates. These evaluations helped both Redondo Beach and the City of Lawndale assess geometric improvements and lane assignments. Final deliverables included signing and striping plans, traffic signal and intersection lighting modifications, temporary signal plans, and stage construction/traffic handling plans. A lighting analysis was also conducted to ensure compliance with IES standards, and ADA ramps were redesigned to meet current accessibility requirements. Key upgrades included new signal equipment, video detection, pedestrian countdown indications, and LED luminaires.
