L.A. Metro Purple Line Subway
Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority
The L.A. Metro Purple Line Subway Project is a transformative nine-mile subway expansion that will connect Wilshire/Western to the Westwood VA Hospital, enhancing mobility through one of Los Angeles’ busiest corridors. Designed for Metro and the city’s commuters, the project addresses regional transit needs by extending service to the Beverly Hills business district, Century City, Westwood Village, and UCLA. ADVANTEC, in partnership with WSP USA, provides full construction management engineering support to assist Metro’s oversight of this complex effort. Our team contributed to the successful completion of Advance Utility Relocations (AUR) at Segment 1 stations—Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega. With deep excavations under dense utility networks and coordination alongside high-rise foundations, the project demands precision, interdisciplinary teamwork, and extensive stakeholder engagement. This is a major step toward a more connected and accessible Los Angeles.
