CVAG Awarded APWA Project of Merit for Creative and Innovative Solutions to Transportation

ADVANTEC was proud to stand by CVAG's side as prime consultant in the acceptance of the Project of Merit Award for 2023 for the "CV Sync" Traffic Signal Synchronization Smart Region Project, Phase I. This advanced technology project is transforming Coachella Valley into a smart region, which is improving transportation to improve the quality of life, safety and sustainability for residents and visitors of the Coachella Valley.

Phase I includes a complex network of nine (9) Traffic Operation Centers, one Regional Traffic Management Center, connected and automated vehicles, Big Data, Integrated Corridor Management, Cyber Security, and Smart Cities initiatives. It provides inter-agency traffic signal synchronization spanning three regional roadways: Highway 111, Ramon Road and Washington Street. This project, also key in sustainability, is an excellent example of a state of the art smart region project due to its social impact of reduced congestion, reduced travel time, improved air quality, managed emergencies, managed events, increased quality of life and better, controlled transportation management.

The "CV Sync" project was also recently selected as the APWA Southern California BEST Project of the Year Award in the regional traffic, mobility and beautification category, which will be awarded on December 14, 2023. It will now go on to the State level of the APWA Awards!
