ADVANTEC prepared the plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for the City of Palm Desert’s Traffic Signal Modifications, Interconnect, and Fire Station Warning System Project, which aimed to enhance traffic signal operations and emergency response safety. The project included signal modifications at the intersections of Highway 111/Park View Drive/Painters Path and El Paseo/San Luis Rey Avenue, along with installation of fiber optic interconnect conduit and cable along four key roadway segments to improve communication between adjacent traffic signals. Additionally, ADVANTEC designed a new fire station warning system for Fire Station 71 on Portola Avenue, incorporating flashing beacons, poles, pre-emption equipment, and signing/striping to alert drivers to emergency vehicle activity. As an added value, ADVANTEC provided the City with two layout and operations design alternatives for the fire station warning system, each with detailed cost estimates to support an informed selection.
