Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Master Plan - Pico Rivera

ADVANTEC is responsible for preparing a citywide Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Master Plan that includes, but not limited to, an inventory of existing traffic signal and communications infrastructure, recommendations for up-to-date traffic signal and communications technologies, identification, and phased implementation of near-term to long-term projects, and a recommended asset management plan. The ITS Master Plan will be used as a planning tool to prepare the City of Pico Rivera for future emerging multi-modal transportation technologies including a Traffic Management Center (TMC), fiber optic communications secured network, open architecture technologies, connected and automated vehicles (CAV), Big Data, integrated corridor management (ICM), Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), Mobility on Demand (MOD), and Smart Cities initiatives. The ITS Master Plan will be prepared using ITS Standards and it will be based on FHWA’s ITS Architecture and requirements, including Concept-of-Operations and System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP). In addition, the ITS Master Plan will incorporate the vision of LA METRO and LA COUNTY ITS Architecture requirements to prepare the City of Pico Rivera to enhance connectivity, increase safety and sustainability, and improve the quality of life in the region.

This project also includes a technology assessment for a new Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and a new Maintenance Management System (MMS) for the traffic engineering staff. Some key benefits for the city in developing this master plan includes:

web-based system

§  A system that provides safe multi-modal transportation solutions
