Purple Line (D Line) Subway Extension Project, Since 2010
County of Los Angeles – Purple Line Subway Extension Project
Being the biggest public works project in the West Coast, at a budget of $9 billion, the Metro Purple Line (D Line) Extension Transit Project is a critical link in the Los Angeles County (LA) transit network serving the westside cities with seven new stations and over 9 miles of tunnels. This will provide a safe, reliable, and affordable high-speed connection between downtown Los Angeles and one of LA’s busiest areas, the Westside, which are the two largest job centers in LA. transportation. This is also one of the “28 for 28” high-profile projects funded by METRO and the Federal government for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Sierra Highway Safety Audit
ADVANTEC was retained by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works to conduct a road safety audit/analysis along a 20-mile mountainous road segment of Sierra Highway, between Santa Clarita and Acton, in northern Los Angeles County. This segment of Sierra Highway parallels the SR-14 Freeway and local residents were voicing concerns on increasing traffic diversions, resulting from freeway congestion, and the safety of Sierra Highway. Safety improvements were recommended by the ADVANTEC Team as a result of the audit. These improvements included additional signage, raised pavement markers, and enhance speed enforcement.
Bus Transit Management System Installation
Performed installation and testing of mobile data terminals, mobile voice and data radio equipment for 800 buses for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority (LACMTA). ADVANTEC’s work included installing all the equipment in the buses including radio communications, mobile computer data terminals, on-board changeable message signs, passenger counters and other related appurtenances. Also, responsible for diagnosing, removing and replacing failed units throughout the installation process. in addition to the installation and testing of new equipment, ADVANTEC was responsible for the removal and storage of LACMCTA’s existing mobile radio equipment. All work done was performed at the LACMTA Bus yard garage while regular maintenance of buses are being conducted.
